Medicar European Private Medical Transport and Medicar European Technical Support were established to aid Assistance Companies, when alternatives were required to the pre existing systems already in place. With over thirty years past experience in overseas logistical problems, we will be able to overcome problems both medical and technical by applying lateral thoughts followed by decisive actions culminating in excellent results.
Medicar European are specialists in the transport of sick and injured patients over long distances, bespoke ambulances created to provide a quiet, comfortable and secure journey without compromise of clinical care.
Medicar European clients include most of the major medical assistance companies, the NHS & Primary Care Trusts, private and corporate companies, private individuals, VIP’s, hospitals and UK and European government agencies.
Medicar European’s location within Ashford in Kent and being only 10 minutes (12K) from the Channel Tunnel and 20 minutes (32K) from the Channel Ports allows us to offer rapid crossing to mainland Europe and to be almost anywhere in Europe within 24 hours of receiving confirmation of a repatriation.
Medicar European is one of only two private ambulance companies to hold an account with Eurotunnel, allowing us to travel Flexi-plus with priority loading reducing waiting times to the minimal, aiding in the quick and comfortable repatriation of patients. We also have a very good working relationship with all the major ferry companies operating to and from mainland Europe and Ireland. We can call upon their assistance and co-operation when deemed a more appropriate form of crossing for the patient.
All vehicles are equipped to a high base level, then supplemented with specialist equipment depending upon the patient’s condition. Staff are all trained in the use of vacuum-mattresses, traction, monitors, defibrillators and any specialized equipment that may be required to move unstable patients.
The advanced satellite navigation system fitted to all our vehicles allows us to track A&E hospital during journeys through the UK and Europe. This facility enables the ambulance to divert at the touch of a button to the nearest hospital via the shortest and quickest route should emergency medical intervention be required. This system allows the transport of patients that may otherwise be deemed too unstable for repatriation by air ambulance.
Our fast, comfortable low-profile Volkswagen Transporter T5 ambulances are also equipped with self-loading stretchers, supplementary climate control, traction control and are also fitted with the usual DVD/TV/Fridge, etc.
Our Iveco's ambulances are high dependency units designed to accommodate 1-2 stretchers or an incubator, up to six seated patients, two wheelchairs, and a crew of two. Power stretcher lifts and full medical facilities make these vehicles ideal for the transport of cardiac, spinal, post-operation and family units.
Pan-European breakdown assistance with vehicle replacement and the back up of additional ambulance companies based throughout the UK and Europe offer extended peace of mind.
