All Medicar Europeans staff are all conversant with the logistical operating procedures needed to undertake trouble free repatriations. Many staff are fluent in a European language to communicate with hospitals and doctors to establish the correct course of treatment for the patient whilst en-route.
We encourage all our staff to be actively involved within the company and this has produced a positive, interactive relationship within the company.
All staff hold current certification for their respective grades, with most holding enhanced training for both medical and trauma patients.
Medicar has a well-established collective of Doctors to call upon to assist with repatriations if required. These doctors are experienced in all aspects of medicine from Aero Medicine to Cardiac, Trauma, Paediatrics and general medicine.
Medicar Paramedics are all state (HPC) registered and have gained their qualifications and experience working within the NHS as trauma, cardiac crews. Medicar does not employ paramedics trained in the private sector. All our paramedics are very experienced in both the UK and European operations.
Medicar Nurses are all experienced and NHS trained. All have extended skill stations, A&E, ITU, CCU and HDU. All are trained to work in an ambulance environment and many are multi-lingual. All our nurses are very experienced in both UK and European operations and are available also for patient escort missions. All Medicar nurses are members of the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association.
Medicar Ambulance Technicians are divided in to two categories, IHCD/Miller who have worked or are working within the NHS. All have experience working with cardiac and trauma patients are use to working in a structured medical environment which creates a good balanced team when working with paramedics, nurses and doctors. E.M.T's (Emergency Medical Technicians) are employed to undertake medical roles when accompanied by more qualified staff. All are trained to a high level and all are ILS, but lack experience with major trauma.
Medicar Patient Transport/Ambulance Attendant Staff are all trained to the standards adhered to by the NHS and working practice is constantly monitored by senior medical staff.
Medicar Drivers, Medical Escorts and Non-Medical Escorts are available to assist patients, clients with any aspect of a repatriation that may be in addition to the medical repatriation. Such as chauffeuring a patient or clients car to their home address or travelling with a younger or older family member as a travel companion. Most chauffeur's civilian, escorts hold a first aid at work certificate.
All staff are Criminal Bureau Checked and wear a uniform, with a collar and tie.
